Connecting Conferences

Net North West has recently been using its extensive skills and technical knowledge to install short term links which give access to the NNW network, and hence to JANET, for conferences and events.

Net North West provided a link to the GMEX centre for the Open Grid Forum. More than 800 grid computing enthusiasts from across the globe gathered together for one week to discuss issues such as further grid standards development and  eScience’s best practices. Grid computing is the using of resources of many networked computers to solve a single problem.

NNW also provided similar connectivity for the High Energy Physics 2007 Conference which took place in July 2007 in the Bridgewater Hall.
