E Learning
Further Education
E Learning is an important part of Further Education and Net North Wet can offer many solutions and create many opportunities for FE’s E Learning needs, so pushing the boundaries of traditional learning and teaching. For example, classes and lectures can be “attended” by those off site through high quality video streaming and conferencing capabilities that are available via the Net North West network. Vast archives and E-books can be accessed quickly and easily through Net North West; a network where E learning services can be delivered at anytime and to anywhere in the world.
We provide the capacity, the connections, the speed and the resilience to deliver high quality video, audio, graphics, WebPages, Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), applications and more, to turn these ideas into a reality, and to have a true impact on learning and knowledge.
Higher Education
There are vast opportunities for E Learning in Higher Education, which the Net North West network can and does support and enhance. Edge Hill University, for example, has been recognised on a local and national scale for its innovative E Learning practices. It was named runner up in the 2003 Times Higher Educational Supplement and Learning & Teaching Support Network E Tutor of the Year competition and more recently won the first ALLIS (Accessing Lancashire Library and Information Services) Staff Development Award for an interactive online module.
Net North West understands the importance of E learning and strives to provide a network that supports this, and continues to support this as technology changes. Our ethos of continual development and evolution allows our connected institutions to stay at the forefront of E Learning and produce innovative E Learning solutions for both staff and students.
Adult and Community Learning and Workers Educational Associations
Within Adult and Community Learning and Workers Educational Associations, E Learning plays a vital role. Net North West provides secure and strong connections to maximise the use of this and open up innovative opportunities for E learning in line with those used in HE and FE. Access to great resources, discussions with other students and the use of various applications can all take place with great ease over the network, in an advanced, strong and highly resilient environment, to truly benefit those returning to learning and introduce them to an interactive and up to the minute way of studying.
Net North West strongly supports the concept of lifelong learning and works to ensure that those who continue to learn into adult life get the most out of the experience, through the utilisation of cutting edge technology via a network that supports this approach and continues to evolve with technology and innovations within E Learning.
Specialist Colleges
A reliable network connection is vital for those within Specialist Colleges, to provide a relaxing and stress free E learning environment for students.
Net North West is continually working to ensure resilience and to ensure that if there is ever a failure on the network traffic can travel via another route. This means that there would be very little, if any at all, interruption for the user.
